Part-time Ministry Assistant Position

Ministry Assistants are responsible for coordinating and organizing issues related to operations of ministries, communicating with staff, elders, and members, and acting as a resource and assistant to the staff and elders. The Ministry Assistant plays a vital role in the facilitation, administration, and accomplishment of ministry.

  • Qualifications

    • Is a growing disciple of Jesus Christ as evidenced by a consistent walk with Him
    • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of sensitive information
    • Experience and enthusiasm for ministering to the church body and a heart to serve
    • Should always exhibit professionalism, demonstrated by a well-groomed appearance, conscientious work ethic, learning ability and accountability
    • A minimum of three years professional administrative experience preferred
    • Ability to work on multiple tasks, be flexible, and work with little supervision
    • Should be willing to work at a fast pace within a variety of settings and circumstances with composure and flexibility
    • Strong attention to detail and an eye for excellence
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Google Suite
    • Ability to learn and adapt to new technology with ease (e.g. Planning Center Online, MailChimp, etc.)
    • Open to critique, correction, and a desire to learn
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to design/create graphics using industry standard software preferred
    • It is preferred but not required that this person is now or will become a member of SSBC


  • Responsibilities

    • Maintain the SSBC master calendar, including appointments for ministers
    • Plan and execute registration and details related to special events
    • Create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations when needed
    • Maintain church website as instructed by the ministers
    • Maintain Planning Center Online
    • Help the Financial Secretary as needed
    • Ordering and maintaining office supplies
    • Answering, screening, and routing incoming phone calls
    • Prepare and disperse weekly bulletins and monthly "stall news"
    • Design and send weekly email
    • Create graphics for various communication (preferred)
    • Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisor
